If you are a foreigner residing in France and have acquired French nationality, you can apply for a French passport so that you can travel around the world as an EU citizen. THE FRENCH PASSPORT ONLINE
The French passport is one of the two identity documents you are entitled to when obtaining French nationality, the other being the French national identity card (Carte Nationale d’Identite). The national identity card allows you to travel freely within the EU, but you will need a passport to travel outside of Europe.

France now issues biometric passports and, since June 2009, all French passports issued contain the holder’s biometric data, including a digital photograph and fingerprints. This is in line with current EU requirements.

The standard French biometric passport is a small, dark red 32-page booklet with a microcontroller containing the holder’s biographical information. As with many passports, key personal information – photograph, signature, personal details including height and eye colour, and a unique passport number – are printed on a single page on the back of the passport.
